This
footage was not shot with any intention of it being made available
in this way and as such is somewhat rough around the edges. After
filming at The Patti the night before this was supposed to be
my day off from filming but at the last minute we thought we’d
take a camera and microphones along and maybe film a few songs.
There is just over an hour of footage and while the sound and
picture quality are good throughout the camera work is rough
and ready. It is filmed handheld sat down at a table and some
of the songs are filmed with the camera just left on the table
pointing at the band. Also on some of the songs there are dancers
obstructing the view.
The last song is incomplete because the tape ran out but I
decided to leave it on the DVD because it is rather wonderful
and features sublime slide playing and vocals from the guvnor.
But we all really liked the end results and thought some of
you out there would be interested in having a copy.
The gig was really great and you will have to go a very long
way to find two such fantastic guitarists playing on the same
stage – unless you live in the South West Wales area of course!
