As
usual, most of what I do these days is centered around Micky.
It was at the Jeff Beck gig last June (Bristol Colston Hall),
I went along with Micky, George, Tracy and John Phillips
that the name Amy Wadge first became known to us. A subsequent
gig in Swansea and a conversation with her led to the Calsonic
gig on April 8th. As all of my "promotions" always
include the common denominator - Micky Jones - it seemed
logical to include The Valves. During the advertising of
the gig, (along with a good friend - Vanessa), shops in
Swansea, Carmarthen, Gorseinon and Llanelli were *persuaded"
to contribute to the raffle and the nights first prize will
be the Encore guitar / Humbucker pick-up (as being played
by Micky in the photo, prior to The Muffins gig at Narbeth
where he made a guest appearance).
It
was planned to be used during The Valves set at Calsonic
by Micky, but sadly as we are all aware this will now not
happen. Hopefully if Micky's situation improves, George
will play, instead of The Valves, with his new band The
Spectaculars and hopefully will also use the guitar during
their set. Gavin and myself will record the gig for future
release, so ....at £1 per ticket, for the chance of
owning a guitar used by Micky and George, is this an opportunity
/ chance of a lifetime or what ...
As
always, all the money goes to the hospitals which have worked
so hard to lengthen the life of and lengthen our enjoyment
of being able to listen to The Legend he is.
